Bamboo Pilot ProjectBamboo Pilot Project

 

Background

The pilot project is currently conducted at Sabal Forest Reserve with an area of 25 hectares comprising 17 plots.

A total of 10,000 bamboo seedlings from 13 species have been identified and planted since 25th December 2018.

 

Objectives

  • To sustain supply of high value of commercial bamboo resources to meet the need of sustainable bamboo industry in the state.
  • To sustain and nurture the environment through bamboo planting and plantation.
  • To create and develop Bamboo Excellent Centre and capability through collaborative initiatives with local and foreign institutions and agencies.
